Malawi’s Deputy Minister of Education, Nancy Chaola Mdooko, has called on people in the country to make good use of the cordial intellectual relationship between Malawi and India by pursuing scholarships offered by Indian tertiary schools.
Mdooko made the call in Lilongwe during an education fair organized for students aspiring to study in India.
“This kind of fair is very good, as it will help our learners choose schools of their preference. They will not choose blindly,” she said.
The deputy minister noted that the government has seen vibrancy from India and believes that local students will also be vibrant.
“I would like to thank the government of India for the diplomatic relationship that has been in place for 60 years now; we are grateful for this,” she added.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Kumar, Charge’d Affairies who represented the High Commissioner of India to Malawi, says their government is committed to ensuring that Malawians can access education in their country.
He noted that there are more than 500 universities in the “Study in India” program, hence they can accommodate a large number of students.
India is the second largest education hub in the world.
