Malawi President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera says his vision is to lay a solid foundation for the benefit of Malawi today and the future generations.
Chakwera was speaking at Mtengowanthenga on Tuesday in Dowa where he made a brief stop on his way to Mzuzu where he is expected to perform a number of public engagements.
In his remarks, the Malawi leader said his administration has put in place strategies that will soon make Malawi self reliant economically.
The President emphasized that the process of graduating the country out of poverty streams maybe hard but the long term benefits are many.
He advised the people of Dowa to always save the little that they have for use tomorrow.
Member of Parliament for the area who is also Deputy Minister of Health Halima Daudi praised the President for upgrading M1 which has been in bad shape for a long time.
Daudi said people of her area are eager to give Chakwera a second term of office because he has shown to be a development conscious leader.
In his speech, Inkosi Mponela lauded Chakwera for fulfilling most of his campaign promises.
