Senior Group Mphonde under Traditional Authority Ngabu in Chikwawa district has given their full support to Member of Parliament for Chikwawa South, Illias Abdul Karim, urging their people to vote for him again in the upcoming 2025 September polls.
This endorsement comes on the heels of the tremendous development projects that Karim has implemented in the area, which have significantly improved the lives of the constituents.
During a recent visit to the area, Senior Group Mphonde commended Karim for his dedication to bringing positive change to the community, citing projects such as the Malawi Rural Electrification Program (MAREP) 9 Project.
The electrification of villages like Mwanawanjobvu, Mchacha, Rabu, and Thudzu has already benefited many residents, allowing them to engage in various businesses and activities that were previously unavailable to them.
Karim, who has prioritized the welfare of his constituents since taking office, expressed his delight at the progress of the MAREP project, stating that electricity would be accessible to the villages within a short period of time.
His commitment to improving infrastructure and basic amenities in the constituency, such as bringing piped water to different areas and initiating road projects, has endeared him to the people of Chikwawa South.
As preparations for the next year’s general elections begin, the reports suggest that potential challengers to Karim’s parliamentary seat have been advised by constituents not to compete against him, due to his track record of delivering on his promises.
The overwhelming support for Karim from the community indicates that he has solidified his position as a trustworthy and effective leader, who is set to continue making a positive impact in Chikwawa South.
