Principal Secretary Abdi Dubat underscored Kenya’s strategic position within the East African Community (EAC) during a high-level meeting focused on improving the ease of doing business.

The meeting, chaired by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, brought together key stakeholders to deliberate on policies aimed at fostering economic growth and enhancing Kenya’s competitiveness in the regional market.

PS Dubat emphasized the need for streamlined regulations and stronger intergovernmental cooperation to attract investments and bolster trade within the EAC.

“Kenya is not just a partner state but a gateway for economic opportunities in the region. It is imperative that we create an environment conducive to business growth,” he said.

The EAC, a vital market for its member states, continues to play a pivotal role in driving regional integration and economic development.

PS Dubat reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to advancing these objectives by addressing barriers to trade and promoting sustainable growth initiatives.

The experts at the gathering called for more action to enhance collaboration among public and private sector players to position Kenya as a leading destination for investment within the EAC framework.
