Saturday, August 9, 2025: Just one day after confirming the over 4000 Green army officially into permanent and pensionable employed by the Nairobi City County Government, Nairobi Governor today led over 15,000 Nairobi residents to State House where President William Ruto hosted them to an empowerment drive.
Among the equipment which President Ruto donated to the thousands of youth and women groups included assorted income generating equipment like motorbikes, water tanks, sewing machines, gaming computers, kitchenware, and poshomills, among others to aid them in business startups.
For months, Ruto’s personal assistant, Farouk Kibet, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and a host of other Kenya Kwanza-allied politicians have been traversing the country with monies to empower small-scale entreprises.
During the historical visit to State House, Governor Sakaja led the more than 15,000 Nairobi residents accompanied by 12 current seating Members of Parliament from among them Nominated Senators Karen Nyamu, Beatrice Mutinda, Nairobi Woman representative Esther Passaris as well as 78 Elected Nairobi Members of the County Assembly (MCA’s) and 21 Nominated Nairobi MCA’s as well as other Nairobi leaders who included former MCAs, past MPs and several other aspiring MPs. Sakaja was also accompanied by Nairobi Deputy Governor Njoroge Muchiri.
This was a historic and momentous occasion as Kenyans of all walks from Nairobi were ushered into the House on the Hill for the first time ever emphasizing the Ruto administration’s commitment that all hustles matter.
