Chiradzulu Midima shadow MP Friday Namaona sets the ball rolling: Invests K18m in road grading project

Namaona: I want people of Chiradzulu Midima to experience real transformation, not lip service

With less than 45 days to the polling day, an independent aspiring member of Parliament (MP) for Chiradzulu Midima Constituency, Friday Namaona, has already demonstrated his resolve to transform the area.

Namaona has invested MK18 million in a road grading project, a move that is expected to improve the overall development and well-being of the constituency that has been denied meaningful development for decades.

Once paved, the roads will foster economic growth and access to essential services, a fundamental component of a thriving community, impacting everything from economic prosperity to social well-being.

Furthermore, the good roads Namaona is building are expected to facilitate efficient movement of people and goods, connecting communities and enabling access to jobs, education, healthcare, and markets.

To ensure that his constituents are the first to benefit from the project, Namaona – who is facing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)-imposed candidate Jean Mathanga – is hiring local people (constituents) to do the job.

“The money they are receiving from this work will enable them to buy essential commodities for their families. And that is very key in empowering communities to achieve their social and economic aspirations,” he said.

At least, 1, 440 people have already benefitted from the project, receiving K8, 400 each for the work. Theye are from Sub Traditional Authority (S/TA) Maoni and T/A Nkalo.

“So far, 1, 440 people have received their payment,” said Namaona, assuring that, once voted into office on September 16, 2025, he will initiate more infrastructure development projects in the area.

“I want this area to get real transformation. Not lip service! People will see real change when I become their lawmaker,” he said.

Expressing his gratitude, Group Village Head Maoni commended Namaona for his visionary leadership and called upon his subjects to rally behind him in his dream to transform the area.
