Former Makadara Member of Parliament Reuben Ndolo has slammed impeached former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua following chaos that rocked parts of Nairobi during his comeback procession from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport yesterday, Thursday 21, 2025.

Speaking during an evening drive radio show on Radio Maisha, Ndolo called on political leaders to put the interest of the country at the fore as opposed to pushing for personal power and gains.

Ndolo reminded listeners that he knows Gachagua as a political novice, who was introduced to him by his late brother former Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua and he helped mentor the former deputy president noting that Gachagua should not hold the country at ransom but be thankful that he had his tour abroad and got back home to find a peaceful country.

“He (Gachagua) should be grateful that he has gone on his personal trip and has come back home safely and the Country has been peaceful. He must now look at the bigger picture and Care for the country and the unity of the nation jot bringing high octane political theatrics to a country that has been very peaceful, ” Ndolo asserted.

The former MP and vibrant boxing administrator was emphatic as he told off Gachagua noting that the real opposition movement in the Kenyan political landscape ended with the exit of past vibrant politicians who relentlessly kept the government on its toes.

“The real opposition ended when we steeped out of politics. You remember we could keep the government of the day on its toes. But now, since he left, the opposition has been lacklustre. They have been cold, nothing was going on while he was away. It means that the opposition today is lacking proper structural plan and he cannot bring them to order,” Ndolo noted

Speaking on the comeback chaos that were witnessed yesterday, Ndolo advised the opposition to consider the stability of the nation as opposed to pushing for selfish gains as the opposition has been seen to do.

At the same time, Ndolo congratulated the Kenyan national football team Harambee Stars for their stellar performance at the ongoing African Nations Championship CHAN saying that the team has performed exceptionally well and has united Kenyans in a way that no political leader would have ever managed.
