StarTimes media has officially introduced its services in Somali, heralding a new era of accessible entertainment for the local population at affordable prices.

The launch event, held on Tuesday, marked the company’s entry into the Somali market, with a focus on providing Direct-to-Home (DTH) decoder solutions tailored to the needs of the average household.

Mr. Carter Luo, the CEO of StarTimes Kenya, will assume the additional role of CEO for StarTimes Somalia, overseeing operations and expansion efforts in the country.

Speaking at the launch event, Luo outlined ambitious plans to enhance the viewing experience by incorporating more local channels into the Somali package.

He expressed enthusiasm for the venture, emphasizing the company’s commitment to enriching the entertainment experience of Somali consumers.

“StarTimes has officially launched in Somalia, marking the beginning of unlimited entertainment for locals with a variety of shows to love and enjoy!” remarked Carter Luo, expressing enthusiasm for the company’s expansion into this vibrant market.

The launch event was graced by the presence of H.E. Mr. Dawood Uwais, Minister for the Ministry of Information, underscoring the significance of StarTimes’ entry into the Somali market.

His presence underscored the government’s support for initiatives that promote access to information and cultural expression, highlighting the significance of StarTimes’ entry into the Somali market.

In attendance also included Mr. Abdi Halane Hirsi, the Chief Executive Officer of Galsom, a local dealer in Somalia.

Hirsi pledged to contribute to the enrichment of Somali entertainment by producing high-quality local content and comprehensive sports coverage.
