Diversity Academy Sets High Standards in Education: 100% Pass Rate in MSCE Exams

Diversity Academy’s newly established secondary school in Nchalo township, Chikwawa district, has made a remarkable debut in the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) exams, achieving a 100% pass rate.

This outstanding performance has garnered attention from stakeholders, including parents and education officials.

Joseph Edgar Ntopa, Chief Executive Officer of Diversity Academy, expressed optimism about the school’s future prospects, predicting a six-point improvement in the next two years.

This confidence stems from the institution’s commitment to hard work and excellence, demonstrated by its teachers.”We’ve had a challenging journey, but our dedication has paid off,” Ntopa said.

“Critics doubted us, but we’ve emerged as the best in Chikwawa District.”

Notably, 21 students sat for the MSCE exams, and all passed, with highest student scoring 10 points.

“We have 13 and 15 then about 6 with 19 below. The rest ranged from 20 to 36 and none of the student failed a subject”, added Ntopa.

Diversity Academy’s success has attracted interest from parents, evident in the recent Standard 8 exams, where learners have been selected for national, district, and conventional secondary schools and it achieved 100% pass rate as well.

The whole Malawi highest got 9 points. According to education reports indicate that other public secondary schools in Chikwawa the highest got 11 points even others 13 points.

Wycliff Chimwendo Banda, President for independent schools Association in Malawi (ISAMA) previously commended Diversity Academy’s exceptional performance in competitions like the Spelling Bee, which is highly contested in the education sector.

“The private school being the winner in this toughest competitions is not a joke. I remember some recent year the school represent the whole Malawi in Nigeria” stated Banda.

Mtsogoli Ganamba, a Senior Health Surveillance Assistant at Ngabu rural hospital and outspoken citizen in Chikwawa District, praised the school’s high standards.

“Diversity Academy employs well-trained teachers, has sufficient resources, and provides a conducive learning environment.” Ganamba added that “last time I met some learners from infant section speaking impressive English which is not the same to others who have MSCE paper in our country”.

The school boasts three campuses: Admarc and Thomu in Nchalo township and Ngabu Campus, established in 2021. The secondary school is strategically located near the Water Board at Nchalo.

Diversity Academy’s impressive start bodes well for the future of education in Chikwawa District, setting a benchmark for excellence and inspiring other institutions to follow suit.

The C.E.O Ntopa has been in outside of Malawi for over 12 years doing research in education in countries like America and South Africa. He Holds more degrees centred on education sector and he once invited by former president of Malawi Prophesor Peter Mutharika who the later was shared experience for the growth of Malawi education sector by Joseph Ntopa.

Diversity Academy receives learners from all regions of Malawi and others from South Africa, Mozambique just to mention but a few.
