In an effort to combat the issue of early marriages in the country, Community Hope Initiatives is actively working to empower young people with valuable technical skills.
Over 450 youths in Lilongwe district, under Traditional Authority Kalolo, have already benefited from this initiative, learning skills such as brick moulding and tailoring.According to the Executive Director of the organization, Fransisco Vitsitsi, this program is also being implemented in Mzimba district, reaching even more young individuals who are at risk of early marriage.
One of the beneficiaries, Lyford Chiwaya, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to learn tailoring skills, which he believes will not only help him meet his daily needs but also play a role in reducing early marriages in the area.
Through Community Hope Initiatives, these young people are gaining the tools they need to become self-reliant and make positive contributions to their communities.
By investing in their future, the organization is paving the way for a brighter tomorrow, free from the harmful effects of early marriages.
