Residents of a village in Chikwawa Nkombedzi Constituency are celebrating a new water source thanks to the efforts of their law maker, Abida Mia.
Paiva 2, the Group Village Head, expressed his gratitude for the much-needed addition to their community on Saturday when Mia officially commissioned the water source.
As the Water and Sanitation minister, Mia not only helped secure the new water source but also acknowledged the support of Malawi Relief Fund-UK in making it possible.
Thanks to their efforts, the residents now have easy access to clean water points located just 500 meters away from each other.
Aisha Missi, an administration officer for MRF UK, emphasized the importance of maintaining the newly installed boreholes to ensure long-term sustainability.
The community has been urged to take care of the water sources to continue benefiting from the much-needed resource.
